Secrets for Long, Strong Hair

For some people, adding extensions to achieve long hair will do just fine - but you may want to achieve long, strong hair naturally. A combination of your nutrition and diet with some specific hair products have been proven to help your hair grow faster. 

Food

  • Avocados - not only delicious, avocados are full of vitamins that help strengthen hair. Bonus points for not only eating them, but using them in a hair mask
  • Carrots - vitamin C and E will help thicken your hair and promote more growth
  • Dark Chocolate - includes helpful minerals for hair growth: zinc, copper, iron. 
  • Guava Leaves - helps with hair loss and also promotes growth. Vitamin C is your hair's best friend.

Products

  • Keratin treatments - help hydrate dry and brittle hair which helps stregthen your strands
  • Hair repair treatments - there are tons of these out there. Look for a hair mask for nourishment and repair
  • Supplements - do some research here, but there are a few haircare companies that also carry supplements 

Once you stock your shelves with some of these products and food, another key tip is to ditch your hair styling tools (hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron). Go au natural as much as you can - give your hair a break!
